National Crime Victims' Rights Week
April 23~29, 2006
For the past 7 years, we have been very active during National Crime
Victims' Rights Week. This year is no exception. Bookmark this page as we
will soon have camera ready artwork, articles and press releases, events,  
proclamations made, activities lists and information about the candlelight
memorial service in Shelbyville, Indiana.
The 2006 theme of the National Crime Victims' Rights Week is
" Victims' Rights, Strength in Unity"
It is important to note that in the United States, there are 2 people murdered each hour,
24 people are raped each hour, 510 people are assaulted each hour, 67 women are
victimized by domestic violence each hour, 391 homes are burglarized each hour, 103
children are abused or neglected each hour, 2 alcohol related deaths happen each hour,
1062 people are victims of identity theft each hour, and 157 people are stalked each
hour. These are only the figures for REPORTED crimes.
